Here is a video of artist Peter Marcus in his studio. Peter was my teacher at Washington University in St. Louis, and really transformed the collograph method into a fine art process. Check out the press he prints on(Peter made the press/and it is what I used throughout undergrad). Also, check out how he presents his prints--stretched onto canvas. If anyone is interested, I can do a demo on this.

Method:
Cintra Board--light gray plate tone.
Ball point pen: Used to make line. The more pressure you apply with the pen, the darker your lines will print.
Etching scribe: Similar affect as dry point.
Relief cutting tool: use this for more etching-like lines.
Gloss medium: White areas.
Contact paper: large white areas.
Matte medium/gloss medium: Used to glue and seal all textures applied to the plate. Also, mix this with carborundum to get area of gray.
Carborundum: For light grays--thin out carborundum mixture with water. For darker grays increase the amount of carborundum in the mixture or do multiple layers of the light gray mixture.
**For best results focus on your image not on all the textures you can make. Simplicity and continuity of image is key.
